San Diego Maternity Photographer / Baby Colin & His Aviator Nursery

My Facebook feed keeps remind me that some of the newborns I recently photographed are now almost 6 months old and sweet little Colin is no exception! This seems like a great time to finally play catch up and blog his lifestyle newborn session for the world to see!

I first met Colin's mommy when I was running a "Cutest Baby" contest and his big sister Riley stopped by the studio to participate! I then saw them again when Madeline announced her pregnancy for some gorgeous baby bump pictures at the Old Poway Park which created a stunning backdrop!

As soon as sweet little Colin was born we scheduled a newborn lifestyle session in their beautiful home. His nursery was aviation themed, complete with vintage airplane models hanging from the ceiling. Both mommy and daddy work in this field, so it is only appropriate.

Colin was the perfect little snuggle bug and his big sister was napping peacefully while we concetrated on his solo portraits with mommy and daddy. The room was filled with so much love. Colin is definetely one lucky little boy!

Shortly after her nap, Ms Riley joined us for some much needed family portraits. Lots of hugs and kisses were exchanged as she dotted on her little brother. Watching siblings interract truly tugs at my heartstrings. The way Riley gently touched his head and his little toes was just too precious and needed to be documented.

I simply adore watching families grow and capturing all the big milestones is such an honor. I am so thrilled for this family - Colin truly completes them!

Of course we were sure to document a number of solo portraits of Colin! Althought lifestyle newborn sessions are mostly candid, unposed moments - we did plan to include a couple of styled portraits. This family had gorgeous hardwood floors in their living room and lots of big windows that let in an abundance of natural light. Hence, I set up a prop right in their living room, rocked Colin to sleep and snapped away. We were thrilled to get these shots of him all snug as a bug!
